Breeder/Owner/Handler Sidney Helen Sachs 8th generation Wayeh, Wayeh’s 10th obedience titled Malamute

Sera is named for her grandpa Artic Wind’s Shadow and many-gr grandma Moonwind Serenade.  But she is herself.  There was a poise about her from the beginning that drew me, and a charisma, which almost became her name.  She claimed me from the beginning as well, frequently leaving her dam for a cuddle, while the others nursed.  And she has her poppa’s shining sweetness.  As well as a dash of goof from both parents.  She loves mothering puppies — Scarlet, Omaha, Tori & Honey.  She lives with momma Singer & Uncle Tom T. but as much as she loves other dogs, she loves people more and would rather snuggle on the couch or lean in for a hug.  She is our obedience hopeful, loves working in harness, but her favorite job is therapy — young, old, doesn’t matter, she adores all people.  Here she meets 700 kids at the “Artic Edge.”

Sera is my first titled obedience dog, followed quickly by her mother and uncle Tom T.  She loves all things to do with the inside of a ring, so long as she doesn’t have to get dressed up for it.  Her second great love is kids, especially handicapped kids, also like her mother and uncle Tom T.  She can spends hours washing the faces of kids.

Sera started out weightpulling very cautiously with 305# and a lot of hugs.  She thought about it for a couple of weeks and we did some specific training to work on her confidence and the next time she pulled, she grabbed a qualifying UKC leg with 760#.  And enjoyed herself.  Way to go, Sera!  Then she grabbed another with 910# uphill on dirt, and then a third the next day to finish her UWP title — way to go, Sera!
