
Carting is a hoot! The only problem you may have is getting the dog to move in a walk.
There are two types of carting.
There is draft-work carting where the dog stays in a walk. This is usually a two-wheeled cart with shafts like a horse-drawn wagon hooked to a BIG dog, St. Bernard, Newfie, etc. However, ANY dog can do this, and Malamutes are perfect, big-boned, love to pull.
There is sled-training carting, where the dogsled is substituted for a wheeled rig. Malamutes or Siberians can do this but where a helmet, pads, and boots. Why, well? Keep reading.
