December 12, 2021 – Day 2. Cold. Removed wind-damaged tarps. Michelle M-M, wild woman Janette, and her mom drove in from Lebanon, TN, with a chainsaw and supplies from Nannette C., and Laura A.. In the afternoon Dan G. and Lisa brought another chainsaw. We cleared some around the back of the house of the small debris and cleared working room behind the kennels to get the big log out. More debris to remove. Then we can start rebuilding kennels, the main entrance to the kennels, and the kennel roofs. Which will be needed even more now that I’m taking down all the nuisance/shade trees. Can’t go through this again. Folks have sent supplies and donations and offers of help and I can’t thank you enough. I’m keeping track, and the personal notes mean so much to me right now when I’m feeling overwhelmed and lost. Dresden is a little gimpy today, but it didn’t slow him down at dinner time, and he moved better as the day wore on. Would love to know how he escaped serious injury because the tree and debris filled Yuki’s kennel and he was in with her. The tree smashed the kennel and fencing into a tangled mess. The dogs, cats, even the chickens were all unusually subdued today. But we had sunshine and got a lot done.
