End of an Era.

RIP Maestro & Sunny, our last Singer X Charles kids. Singer & Charles both lived to be 13. Stro-man & Sunny Sunshine were 1 week shy of 15. I could see it coming from a long way off. Finally, he got down and couldn’t get back up again. His faithful sister held out just for him, I thought. Got back from the vet and she was down. Couldn’t get back up again.

A week later, their half-sister 13yo Seranade who had been battling (I thought successfully) Vestibular disease, died in her sleep.

And a month after that, we lost 10yo Bright to pneumonia.

Things are quiet here at Wayeh. Subdued. Maybe the dogs are picking up my attitude. Maybe I’m picking up theirs. But we lost 4 of our 9 double-digit seniors in a short month’s time. It’s inevitable, but doesn’t make it hurt any less.
