Wayeh’s 6th generation, Wayeh’s 11th AKC CH, my (Sidney’s) 1st AKC Champion, and first in my heart for the devil in her eye. She is the dam of 2 WTD/WLDs (Tom T. & Singer), the dam of the world’s first, any breed, any kennel club Rally-OTCH who is also the first Alaskan Malamute to get his Rally-Novice, R-Advanced, R-Masters, R-Excellent, R-200 (Snowman), Singer is a 3rd generation AKC/INT CH, and Singer, Snowman, and Tom T. All have CGC & RN . This girl has brains and passed them on to her kids.
Summer is (was) the future of Wayeh. She is my hope and my dreams and my best friend. She’s a pain in the butt, my go-getter, and the original charmer.
She came into my life when things were bleak and Malamute-less. But there is something about a puppy, especially a Wayeh Malamute puppy, that demands attention and chases away the blues. Summer was immediately “adopted” by our neutered Siberian Mark, and they both started going to obedience classes with Jane Johnson 3 hours away in Asheville, NC. We started Summer at 7.5 weeks and she has a work ethic that won’t quit.
Summer died of bloat and/or heatstroke on June 4, 2002. Autopsy was inconclusive as to which came first. She had water and shade and the temps only got to 85 degrees that day. She never finished her CD, WWPD, or WPD. My heart aches with her loss. She was my first show dog, my first AKC CH, my first brood bitch. She was my friend. Dam of Tom and Sing and my perpetual troublemaker. Nothing was ever calm around her. Or boring. [I miss you, brat.]
Summer lives on in her children and especially her grandchildren — Sunny is named because she is the new improved edition of grandma – Summer Sunshine
